2014 was a beautiful year. A blessed 365 days filled with good health, a lot of happiness, life successes, love and of course my favourite, a lot of travel!
When you have such an amazing year, it can all be a little overwhelming, it might sound bizarre and many will look at you and wonder what you have to be worried or stressed about? But for me, for every year that comes my way, I am forever trying to top the last. It keeps me motivated, inspired and loving life! In many ways, I’m actually worried that each day or year isn’t going to be as good as the last.
So we are almost halfway through 2015 and so far it’s been nothing short of absolutely fabulous! I’ve been busy working away trying to mark my place in the media industry after graduating from university. I am into my second year of my “big girl” job working as a video editor for one of the biggest newspaper publications in Scotland and what an experience it has been. Of course it’s not been perfect and it has come with it’s fair share of troubles but we can all learn and grow from rough patches and at the end of the day, in my opinion, everything makes for good experience, good or bad.
Those who know me will know of my absolute desire and passion for travel and culture. To me travelling is the best gift that I can give to myself or to others, it’s the most amazing way to learn new things and to gain life experiences, to immerse yourself into a new area of the world and meet new faces, those memories are priceless and will last a lifetime.
I was born into a family that loves to travel and that could be one of the biggest factors in my desire for a life of wanderlust but as I get older I find myself wanting to spend every spare minute and penny on exploring something new, so be it a new country or continent or even a recommended coffee shop or market a few miles down the road! I just want to explore!
So here I am halfway into 2015 with more exciting plans than I can even handle from multiple trips that have booked and planned to a new job offer in a new city and of course who knows what else life has planned? The unexpected, the unplanned and the curveballs, it’s all so exciting. I have decided to start up this blog as a voice for all things I love in my life, from travel blogs to restaurant recommendations and fashion and lifestyle tips. This is an outlet for myself to look back on one day and smile at.
For me it’s basically a tidier (much tidier) journal that I don’t mind others picking up to read! And when picking it up, I hope that I can inspire you to travel like I am inspired by so many of my fellow explorers and lovers of life out there in the world.
