South Carolina Coast: Discover The Sweetgrass Inn at Wild Dunes Resort

Hyatt Hotels has announced the opening of Sweetgrass Inn at Wild Dunes, a newly built signature hotel located on four acres of the coastal resort. Inspired by the sweetgrass that is indigenous to the South Carolina coast,  Sweetgrass Inn is nestled among the dunes of Charleston’s barrier island, Isle of Palms. Offering distinct, modern, and beachy accommodations with elevated amenities for travelers beckoned by the Lowcountry, Sweetgrass Inn offers an inviting, lively retreat ideal for couples, families and groups.  Sweetgrass Inn features 153 guest rooms and suites, a premier spa, two dining outlets, an expansive pool deck and first-class meeting and event spaces, in addition to  full access to Wild Dunes Resort’s established, award-winning golf courses, tennis club and white sand beaches .

“We believe Sweetgrass Inn resonates with today’s traveler seeking a warm sense of belonging through connections to our unique Lowcountry culture,” says Robb Walker, Managing Director at Wild Dunes Resort.

“When families visit Wild Dunes Resort, they have the opportunity to create a tradition. We are fortunate to welcome generations of families that have been coming year after year and have fallen in love with the history and beauty of the Lowcountry. The growth of our resort experience continues this tradition, and the opening and addition of  Sweetgrass Inn as a distinct, true to place resort is certain to serve as the backdrop for countless family memories.”

Developed by longtime Wild Dunes Managing Partner Lowe and partner Dart Interests, Sweetgrass Inn offers spacious accommodations with spectacular views of the Atlantic Ocean, Lowcountry marshes, Charleston city skyline and Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge. Guest rooms range from king, double queen and one-bedroom suites. Each guestroom embraces modern, contemporary design elements influenced by a coastal aesthetic, incorporating Charleston’s historic charm.

Spa at Sweetgrass is a stunning 10,000 square-foot sanctuary where guests are invited to retreat, rejoice and reset their mind and body. The Spa at Sweetgrass features 14 treatment rooms and indoor and outdoor relaxation spaces, including a 3,000 square-foot private outdoor spa garden with plunge pools and cabanas. The spa menu features massages, body treatments, facials and other services, all centered around philosophies of nature with a focus on the healing powers of the ocean and the natural elements of the earth.

Sweetgrass Inn features two new culinary experiences for guests to gather and share a meal. The Laughing Gull, a casual bar and restaurant, serves frosty beverages and island-inspired poolside cuisine, like the lump crab salad and margarita popsicle dessert. Inside the hotel’s lobby, The Oystercatcher Restaurant & Bar is a lively gathering place where guests can kick back and enjoy a menu highlighted by local, fresh seafood delivered daily, including oysters on the half shell prepared four ways.

One of the most captivating features is the hotel’s new, expansive pool deck with a zero-entry pool, hot tub and kid’s splash pad. Poolside programming will be offered for children and families. Other outdoor recreation includes Wild Dunes Resort’s signature year-round championship golf, nationally ranked tennis and 1,600 acres of unimpeded sandy beaches.

Sweetgrass Inn elevates Wild Dunes Resort as a premier destination for groups and events in Charleston.
