Saint Lucia Relaxes Restrictions For Vaccinated Travellers

Saint Lucia has relaxed Covid-19 requirements for fully vaccinated visitors. Tourists who have been vaccinated against the virus can now rent cars, eat at more local restaurants, and participate in additional activities such as beach hopping.

Immunized guests enjoy unlimited access to all areas of the Caribbean island from the day they arrive and quarantine on vaccinated returning nationals has also been lifted.

Covid-certified hotels, villas, and rental accommodations are available to visitors.  The island now has an amber status on the UK government’s traffic light system for restarting international travel on May 7, with a travel advisory.

The last dose of a two-dose Covid-19 vaccination or a one-dose vaccination must have been administered at least 14 days before travel, according to the St Lucia government’s new requirements.

When filling out a pre-arrival travel authorization form, arrivals must declare that they are properly vaccinated and submit proof of immunization as all tourists must have their immunization card or paperwork with them and Saint Lucia will accept either the NHS app or NHS letter to prove Covid vaccination status.

Visitors who have pre-registered and are fully vaccinated will be expedited through a special health screening line and will be given a non-electronic identification wristband for the length of their stay, which must be worn at all times.

“While all visitors to Saint Lucia can currently experience a wonderful holiday as well as approved tours and attractions, fully vaccinated travellers are now invited to explore the entire destination at their leisure while following our protocols”, said Saint Lucia prime minister Allen Chastanet.

“We’ve successfully and safely managed tourism since reopening our borders in June 2020, with no need to close because of our protocols and the bubble we created for our visitors and frontline tourism workers.

“We are delighted to be able to expand the opportunities for vaccinated visitors and ease the restrictions for returning nationals. Vaccinated visitors can now truly holiday like a local.”
