Hotel Lungarno: A Stylish & Elegant Hotel With The Top Sights Of Florence On Its Doorstep

The Hotel Lungarno is located in Florence’s incredibly historic centre, with all of the city’s top attractions just a short stroll away and the famous Ponte Vecchio bridge within viewing distance from almost every window, this hotel is a must-stay when in Florence. Inside the five-star hotel, you’ll find it to be decked out in luxury yacht-inspired interiors – blues, whites, and rich red leather merge with over 450 original artworks, fitting the high standards of an owner who knows a thing or two about style. Meanwhile, star chef Peter Brunel delivers culinary wonders in the Michelin-starred restaurant, which also offers a variety of 900 sommelier-recommended wines.

The Hotel Lungarno, the flagship hotel of the Florentine fashion business Salvatore Ferragamo, will delight art historians, fashionistas, and foodies alike and is the ideal place to stay if you want to see both the city’s remarkable ancient monuments and the luxury stores of the Via de Tornabuoni (Florence’s very own Bond Street).

Location

The hotel is located on the south bank of the Arno, just metres downriver from the Ponte Vecchio, in the heart of Florence. The Uffizi is five minutes away, while the Duomo or Boboli Gardens are a mere ten minutes away.

The enhanced hotel art collection today includes over 450 works, which are available to guests in a variety of themed itineraries, with many of the pieces accompanying them to their rooms, many of which are themed and dedicated to the work of a single artist, such as the Picasso, Venna or Francesconi suites.

Rooms & Suites

The nautical colour pattern is continued throughout the rooms and suites, with blue striped carpets and contrasting cream headboards with navy piping. 40 of the 65 rooms and suites offer river views, with Nespresso machines, Bose speakers, and Mini iPads, and it is well worth paying the additional euros for the river view, if even just for the spectacular sunsets. The bathrooms feature travertine and marble finishes, as well as toiletries from Salvatore Ferragamo. The hotel also caters to families, with family suites and interconnecting rooms, as well as child-friendly museum and shopping tours available upon request.

Food & Drink

At the Hotel Lungarno, you’ll find a wide range of dining options. There’s something for everyone’s taste buds, from Tuscan and Italian cuisine to Asian fusion. The hotel suggests the “La Terrazza” Bar for the amazing views of Florence. The Picteau bar in the hotel’s lounge, on the other hand, is the ideal setting for a coffee or a cocktail while being surrounded by authentic Picasso and Cocteau art – with almost 400 pieces of the most delicate art from the 900s, the Hotel Lungarno presents itself as a private property of a discerning art collector.

The hotel’s restaurant Borgo San Jacopo, which proudly has a Michelin star, is one of the city’s best, serving haute cuisine dishes evocative of Italian home cooking in a vibrant ambiance overlooking the river. Chef Claudio Mengoni transforms fresh, local, and seasonal ingredients into traditional Italian delights with an innovative twist. Each course is aesthetically presented and paired with a wine from the restaurant’s vast wine cellar, which features over 900 bottles from all around Italy and the globe.

Facilities & Service

If you require transportation from the airport, the hotel offers a prepaid airport shuttle service for a cost. The hotel also offers complimentary Wi-Fi in all rooms, as well as a private parking lot and accessibility for those that need wheelchair access. The hotel also caters to families, with various interconnecting rooms and spacious suites that can comfortably accommodate larger groups.

The service is impeccable, as one would expect from a Ferragamo establishment. Although the Lungarno Hotel does not have a spa or a gym, you can arrange for a massage in your room and guests can also borrow one of the hotel’s bicycles from reception if they want to pedal around the city.
