HOSHINOYA Kyoto: A Picturesque Ryokan Retreat That Embodies Traditional Japanese Culture

Surrounded by lush greenery and plenty of wildlife, this serene location provides a perfect retreat while still being conveniently close to renowned attractions such as the enchanting Arashiyama Bamboo Grove, the historic Tenryu-ji Temple, and the playful residents of the Iwatayama Monkey Park. Every one of the 25 guest rooms overlooks Mount Ogura and the Oi River, with four various types of rooms; Yamanoha, Tanigasumi, Yamanoharshi, and Mizunone. A true highlight of our stay was embarking on a boat ride through Arashiyama on the hotel’s original Japanese-style boat “Hisui”. Surrounded by nature, we were amazed at the breathtaking views and also enjoyed the experience of making matcha green tea while sailing through the seasonal scenery.
