Valentine’s Day: The Best UK Restaurants Doing Fine Dining Delivered To Your Door

With the national lockdown still in place, restaurants and those in the hospitality sector have been forced to close their doors once again. It’s become clear that throughout the coronavirus pandemic the restaurant industry has been one of the worst-affected, however many restaurants have now introduced delivery services to help them survive this period.

Many restaurants have taken a new spin on takeaways, such as Patty & Bun and Pizza Pilgrims, creating DIY kits to allow you to recreate your favourite dishes at home.

However, if you’re celebrating Valentine’s Day this year or any other special occasion at home, or you’re simply looking to treat yourself to a fine dining experience from a more high-end restaurant, many have also started delivering food or offering collection.

Here are our favourite restaurants we can’t wait to order in with across the UK.

1. Nobu London

One of the world’s most iconic restaurants famed for its mouthwatering dishes from black miso cod to wagyu beef steaks and the freshest and finest sashimi and sushi, Nobu London is now on Deliver and Supper and if you live close by, you can also opt for the restaurant’s pick up service.

2. Home-X – Six By Nico

Home-X, a website creating in-home dining experiences, has been introduced by famous Chef Nico Simeone, owner of Six by Nico. Featuring vegan dishes and hand-picked artisan cheeses and excellent wines from brands such as the Stem Wine Club, the Cheese Club and the 24-Carrot vegan offering. You will also be able to order Home By Nico, which will echo the Six by Nico restaurants with a four-course tasting menu, themed around memories or destinations.

Currently, it is offering delivery nationwide and collection from its Glasgow, Edinburgh and Belfast venues, along with London, Manchester and Liverpool.

3. Dishoom

Our favourite Indian restaurant of all time, Dishoom has also started offering home delivery, meaning you can enjoy the restaurant’s signature dishes from the comfort of your own home and without the 2-hour queues and waiting list. Score!

Available from its Kensington, Shoreditch, or King’s Cross branches, through the Deliveroo app, this is one to jump of if you have always dreamed of eating at Dishoom but couldn’t stand facing the wait times.

Additionally, with every meal you order, the restaurant chain will be donating a meal to a child through Akshaya Patra, an Indian charity that provides free school meals.

4. Sketch, Mayfair

Launched during the second lockdown, Sketch at Home is a new click and collect and delivery service from one of London’s prettiest and most Instagrammable restaurants. Available to for home delivery seven days a week, Sketch at Home includes an aperitif menu, a four-course menu with an alternative vegetarian option and a two-course Sunday lunch menu for two people. Each menu comes complete with wine pairings, along with two-step instructions with advise on how to heat and present each dish.

5. Hakkasan

Hakkasan at Home allows you to sample the restaurant’s Michelin-starred menu from the comfort of your own dining room via Deliver. Arguably one of the most instantly recognisable restaurant names out there, the brand – which has two locations based in London – is famed for expertly prepared dim-sum dishes and Cantonese specials such as roasted chicken in satay sauce and langoustine har gau with Prunier caviar.

6. 10 Greek Street

Offering an ever-changing menu, 10 Greek Street has been popular with locals and tourists in Soho ever since it opened its doors in 2012. The restaurant launched a takeaway and delivery service during the second lockdown, offering its hearty pizzas, desserts and beers to postcodes within a 2.5 mile radius.

7. Lina Stores pasta kits

If your trip to Italy has been cancelled or you’re just craving those delicious big bowls of fresh pasta, this is the next best thing. Central London’s best pasta pit-stop has created cook-at-home kits, available nationwide. Lina Stores’ aubergine polpette and ravioli verde are melty mouthfuls of cheesy, truffley heaven – hop straight on that Deliveroo app and add antipasti, panini and dolci to your basket between midday and 3pm and 5pm-10pm daily.

8. Harrods Food Hall

In late 2020, Harrods, the iconic luxury department store introduced a food delivery service from its Knightsbridge, West London flagship store. Customers within a 2.5-mile radius of its Knightsbridge store can choose from 60 products and dishes from Harrods’ food and dining halls to be delivered to their door “within the hour” via the high-end takeaway app Supper or collect their order from the store.

9. Farmacy Nottinghill

Notting Hill’s popular plant-based restaurant, Farmacy, has launched a home delivery menu, available to Londoners in zones 1-3. Select from a menu of 15 dishes, including the signature Got No Beef Burger and vegan ‘mac n cheese’, as well as chocolate chip cookies and cakes. In addition to the delivery service, the Farmacy Market is open daily, serving fresh vegetables, warming soups and nutrient-packed juices.

10. Dinings SW3

How does some wagyu beef or a luxury bento box in your living room sound? Dinings SW3 has launched a new takeout range of premium bento boxes, a Japanese culinary staple which dates back more than 1000 years. This includes some of the Knightsbridge restaurant’s most popular dishes, such as the grilled black cod and line caught sea bass. Pair with a bottle Dinings SW3’s very own sake for the full experience.
