La Demeure Montaigne Paris: Five Star Hotel With A Five Star Location

We recently had the pleasure of visiting the five-star La Demeure Montaigne hotel in Paris, a property meticulously designed down to the finest detail, and while the décor is a mix of eras, the comforts are true modern luxury.  The name La Demeure Montaigne comes from its location, just off Avenue Montaigne, and along with its atmosphere: however opulent it may be, this Haussmannian mansion preserves a unique residential aspect, making it all the more special especially on a city street so close to many of the city’s most popular tourist areas.

Location

Located between the ultra-luxurious Avenue Montaigne and the world-famous Champs-Élysées, in an ivory Haussmannian mansion with rustic and charming wrought-iron balconies the hotel is an excellent starting point for exploring the very best of Paris. The hotel is located just under an hour away from Paris Charles De Gaulle Airport and its nearest Metro station (Franklin D. Roosevelt) is a little over a 5 minute walk, whilst the Arc De Triomphe is under a 20 minute walk as is the iconic Eiffel Tower.

Style & Atmosphere

La Demeure combines the beauty and elegance of a classic Haussmann structure with contemporary urban flair. In French, ‘la demeure’ means a period residence, and this is exactly the essence of the property. Guests are encouraged to feel relaxed throughout the hotel, from the informal reception area, which is designed to look like a sophisticated front room, to the welcoming lounge.

This 5-star residence, is a symbolic building of the City of Light, boasting luxury interior ideal for a business trip, a romantic break, or a family vacation. La Demeure Montaigne, transports you between history and contemporary, elegance and romanticism.

Rooms & Suites

The rooms are bright and stylish in colours of gold, bronze, sage and green. Every suite is as charming and cosy as the next, with matching bedspreads and ornamental pillows in vibrant accent colours, an art décor-styled cabinet with velvet chairs, herringbone flooring.

The 93 rooms and suites at La Demeure Montaigne are separated into five categories and the hotel’s furniture, which is created and manufactured in France is unique to the hotel. The headboards, created by artists Frédérique and Rob Whittle, are one-of-a-kind and patented works for La Demeure Montaigne.

Every room contains a Nespresso coffee maker and kettle, and the bathrooms are equipped with a walk-in shower with Thalgo products. Rooms on the top level include petite wrought-iron terraces, just big enough for a table for two to lounge and observe the bustling Parisian streets below, while those on the sixth can spot the famous Eiffel Tower.

Spa & Hotel Amenities

In a unique architectural setting with the feel of the sea bed, the wellness area of La Demeure Montaigne is a real treat. The wellness area is entirely clad in Vals stone from the Swiss village and the highly structured stone is enhanced by white quartz on a grey background with slight golden metallic reflections.

The modern wellness facility (open from 7am to 10pm daily), includes a jacuzzi, swimming pool, sauna, steam room and spa shower with a variety of jets, is available to guests complimentary. Massages, facials, manicures, and other luxury treatments can be booked ahead of time in the spa.

Food & Drink

A former inner courtyard has been transformed into a dazzling winter garden by the restaurant La Demeure Montaigne. The sunlight shines through the enormous glass roof.  In the winter, a fireplace adds warmth to the room, whilst the  furniture, in particular, blurs the line between inside and out, thanks to the use of cane sofas and armchairs.

In a spacious breakfast area, guests can enjoy a vast continental breakfast buffet selection, between 6 a.m. and noon, the buffet section offers freshly squeezed fruit juices as well as coffee and a selection of continental cold meats, fruit and some hot breakfast options. There is also the pastry bar, where guests can pick up a fresh croissant or crepe among other delicious pastries and beside it there is the egg counter serving up eggs cooked in many ways.
