We stayed in the hotel’s Deluxe Harbour View Suite, offering spectacular Victoria Harbour views through enormous windows in every room, the incredible Peninsula suites are lavishly light-filled and spacious. Each has elegant contemporary interiors enhanced with deluxe details – including lacquered fittings, a decorative fireplace , a plush L-shaped sectional sofa, and numerous original artworks. The bedroom, a high-ceilinged sanctum, has its own sitting area and telescope for star- and harbour-gazing. A generous walk-in dressing area leads to a grand marble bathroom, where a pedestal whirlpool tub enjoys show-stopping panoramic vistas.
Culinary Excellence in Every Bite
For those with a penchant for culinary delights, The Peninsula leaves no cravings unmet. Its array of dining establishments, including the “Spring Moon”, one of Hong Kong’s most celebrated Chinese restaurants, the Michelin-starred Spring Moon has drawn fans of classic, refined Cantonese cuisine for decades since 1986. The timelessly elegant dining room, graced by Art Deco stained-glass windows, sets the stage for Chef Lam Yuk Ming’s magnificent array of authentic preparations.
Menu offerings range from elaborate dishes including Braised Bird’s Nest Soups, Roasted Peking duck, and Wok-fried Kagoshima beef to abundant dim sum varieties. All can be paired with artisanal teas recommended by Spring Moon’s Tea Masters, and signature spicy condiments – including the world-famous XO Chilli Sauce, which originated here.
Elsewhere there is the French gem “Gaddi’s,” are a testament to its culinary excellence. A Hong Kong institution since 1953, Gaddi’s has continually enticed diners with its superb, Michelin-starred French gastronomy and timeless glamour. The opulent dining room, adorned with glittering crystal chandeliers and ornate mirrors provides an apt setting for Chef Albin Gobil’s haute cuisine and accompanying fine wines.
We thoroughly enjoyed spending our Anniversary dinner at European restaurant,”Felix”, with its sky-high harbour views and sleek, modern Philippe-Starck-designed interiors, Felix has long been one of The Peninsula Hong Kong’s most visually striking dining destinations. Thanks to the creative ingenuity of Chef de Cuisine Aurélie Altemaire and Head Mixologist François Cavelier, the restaurant has also become a hotbed of culinary innovation.
Chef Aurélie delights in showcasing the freshest seasonal ingredients from around the world – Patagonian toothfish, Iberian pork, Japanese oysters – in imaginative and deeply flavourful dishes. The iconic British afternoon tea served in “The Lobby” is also a cherished tradition that should not be missed.
