The London Basin Company: Luxury Bathroom Basins Inspired By Travel & Culture

Distinctive Design Aesthetics

Step into the world of the London Basin Company, and you’ll discover a harmonious blend of classic elegance and contemporary flair. Founded by interior designer Anna and her daughter, Nathalie, The London Basin Company, draws inspiration from antique china, fabric archives, wallpaper, historic items, and treasures they found during their travels. Specialising in bathroom products, the company’s design aesthetic captures the beautiful essence of The Far East and beyond. From basins designed in sunrise orange emblazoned with floral motifs in vivid reds, blues and greens inspired by Oriental designs to the highest quality Bohemian Crystal basins reflective of the Renaissance period, the products are not just functional pieces but expressions of design identity.

Exquisite Craftsmanship

At the core of the London Basin Company’s offerings lies an unwavering commitment to exquisite craftsmanship. Every basin, and fixture is a testament to meticulous detail and enduring craftsmanship. Skilled artisans hand throw each basin out of the finest porcelain before pressing, polishing, trimming, drying, and smoothing it to complete perfection.

The basins are then elaborately decorated using a wide range of methods, from hand-painting to engraving. To ensure maximum durability, it is then burned at temperatures of up to 1,300 degrees, often multiple times. This means that the surface of the porcelain basins are incredibly tough and robust, making them suitable for daily use. More than functional elements, these pieces are works of art, reflecting the company’s dedication to preserving the timeless tradition of craftsmanship.

Storytelling through Design

Beyond the tangible, each product from the London Basin Company is a narrative in design. Whether inspired by historical motifs, cultural symbols, or contemporary interpretations, the designs tell a unique story. This storytelling element adds a layer of depth and character to the functional aspects of their offerings, creating a meaningful connection between the user and the rich history and art that has inspired each piece.

In every basin and sink, the London Basin Company unfolds a design odyssey—a journey through time, style, and innovation that invites individuals to bring a piece of vibrant cultural spirit into their own living spaces.

Their basins, which come in a variety of styles such as Japanese Koi carp, flower baroques, spherical shapes and scalloped edges, are made to go with the brand’s unique vanity units, mirrors and taps to create a look that perfectly captures the essence of whimsical bathroom elegance. Take a look at our top 5 favourite London Basin Company products below.

The Ophelia Basin

The Ophelia countertop basin, inspired by a lacquered jewellery box, adds opulence and drama to any bathroom. Classical Chinese scenes are lavishly painted in rich maroons, greens, and blues, with a high gloss finish to make a striking impression. This is the basin we have in our own guest bathroom and we love the compliments we get from visitors! We matched our Ophelia basin with elegant gold taps and Asian mural wallpaper as the backdrop.

The Lucia Blue Basin

The Lucia – Blue countertop basin is made from the highest quality Bohemian Crystal and is carefully hand-blown and carved by highly trained craftsmen. It has a brilliant royal blue hue that is cut to clear and shimmers wonderfully in the light. Bohemian crystal, which rose to prominence and popularity during the Renaissance period and still graces some of the best castles and jewellery collections in the world, is one of Europe’s most luxurious, durable, and unique materials.

Lorelei basin

Enhance your bathroom with some Eastern feng shui. The Lorelei countertop basin takes its inspiration from ornamental Oriental porcelain, including a fish and lotus blossom design on the inside—traditional emblems of prosperity and abundance. A classic white-on-blue floral pattern decorates the exterior, adding a sophisticated touch to your bathroom.

The Sadie Basin

The Sadie basin, with its sandy-coloured background and diagonal pattern of shallow triangular carvings, was inspired by markets of Asia. The style is finished off with two contrasting black bands, adding visual interest to the overall design. The Sadie basin is beautifully textured, conveying a distinct tribal spirit, and is hand-carved by experienced craftsmen.

The Azriel Basin

Oriental-inspired floral motifs in bright reds, blues, and greens are etched across the stunning sunrise orange of the Azriel countertop basin. Inside, an Asian scene with a red fish adds warmth and richness with its contrasting colours and gold highlights, bringing a warmth of luxury to your bathroom.
