Brand new plans have unveiled what visitors can expect from the upcoming £3.5 billion London Resort, which will open in the United Kingdom.
The theme park, which hopes to open the first phase by 2024, has been dubbed “UK Disneyland” and has been labeled the most impressive new attraction in Europe since Disneyland Paris in 1992.
If the theme park receives building approval, development may begin as soon as next year. The resort will soon have two sections, with the first opening in 2024 and the second in 2029.
When finished, it will be three times the size of any other park in the UK, spanning 535 acres, the equivalent of 136 Wembley Stadiums.
The resort will include six distinct lands, inspired by its collaborations with the BBC, ITV Studios, and Paramount Pictures. The London Resort will be accessible through a grand plaza that will guide tourists and hotel guests via ‘The High Street,’ which will include stores, restaurants, accommodation, and a waterpark.
Next to it will be a water park with “interconnected swimming pools,” as well as water slides and wave machines, all of which will be under shelter – as will 70% of the amusement park, shielding visitors from the unpredictable British climate.
The amusement park also has three hotels: one with 1,500 rooms, one with 850 rooms, and one with 400 rooms.
The Studios, a rugged, modern-day factory district with blockbuster action movie features such as high-octane car chases and high-stakes spying, is where visitors will begin their journey. The Woods, an enchanted world just to the north, brings a new twist on well-known bedtime books, fables, and fairy tales. The Kingdom, located next to the Woods, is an immersive realm of swords, magic, dragons, and legend based on King Arthur’s England legends.
The Isles, a land of giant creatures, legendary beasts, and high-tech rides, and The Jungle, which boasts ancient remains of a strange long-lost Mesoamerican civilization will keep young adventurers entertained. The Starport, the last site, is a 23rd century landing zone devoted to futuristic adventures, alien encounters, and science-fiction journeys.
In addition, there will be two ferry terminals, one on either side of the River Thames.
