Therefore, I give to you a whole new category on my website, titled the “Wedding Diaries”, here I will talk about all things wedding and wedding travel related.
We’ve not started properly planning our own wedding yet, so we can go on this exciting planning adventure together, from start to I do.
Let’s start with the most romantic places in the world to propose; perfect for those planning to pop the question in the near future or those that simply want to plan a romantic trip.
I’d also like to take this time to say a massive thank you from Lewis and me to everyone that has reached out with such kind words during this exciting time! Thank you.
Lake Garda, Italy
We got engaged here last month (on the 18th of August), so of course, Lake Garda is number 1 on my list! The day my other half proposed to me in Sirmione will forever be one of the most romantic days of my life, and the setting sure did add to the romance of it all.
Based in Northern Italy, the lake is known for its crystal clear blue water and home to Scaligero Castle, a charming ancient fortress, that is guaranteed to make you feel like you’re living in a fairytale. Take a boat tour around the lake and through the castle to make the day extra special; or if budget allows, hire out a private boat and pop the question on the lake or in the castle.
Lake Garda, Sirmione, is also home to one of the most incredible and picturesque Roman villa’s dating back to 1st-century AD. Complete with teetering stone arches and tumbledown walls, some three stories high, the Grotte di Catullo is the largest Roman palace ruins in Northern Italy and sits on the cliffside, offering the best views of Lake Garda.
I’ll never forget the moment the love of my life got down on one knee under one of these magnificent ancient arches, with a view of the lake in the background, and asked me to be his wife.
