Review: The Newest Range Rover Is More Luxurious & Sleeker Than Ever

The new Range Rover represents the pinnacle of modern British luxury, combining traditional craftsmanship and engineering excellence with cutting-edge technology to improve ownership and the driving experience. We had the pleasure of test-driving the newest Ranger Rover and here’s what we discovered.

This new Range Rover is only the fifth edition of the legendary 4×4 in over 50 years, with the original Range Rover originally intended to be the ideal lifestyle SUV, with luxury added later. This new model is entrusted with innovating the genre once more, highlighting luxury, technology, and design.

What amazed us the most was how much joy we had driving the vehicle. The Range Rover has always been a superb all-rounder, serving as part luxury car, part family car, and part 4×4. That has all been improved, and this car is truly a masterpiece. The new car’s beauty is all in the details, and the features are all about elegance. There are fewer welds around the roof, for example, which results in a cleaner appearance above the entirely flush-fitting side windows.

Other noticeable designs can be found in the side openings that are extremely minimal and have a body-coloured panel within them, flush door handles, narrow headlamps and a sleek front with only horizontal lines below the bumper. Then there’s the back, with the traditional bustle below the rear window and split tailgate – the bottom half of the car is also narrower than most SUVs, allowing drivers to benefit from an enormous boot.

The inside, like the appearance of the exterior, feels simpler and more modern than ever. Two large screens facilitate information exchange but owing to some clever design, they don’t seem overwhelming. The 13.7-inch digital instrument display is a tiny panel that almost looks to hang from the beautifully sculpted binnacle, while the 13.1-inch Pivi Pro touchscreen hovers very slightly above the leather dash panel with a wafer-thin frame that decreases its perceived weight.

The driving position is something Land Rover has always done better than any other manufacturer of an SUV – not only do you sit high but the controls are all easy to find and grasp, and the view out – front, rear, and sideways – is spectacular. It gives you a majestic feeling when driving.

The Range Rover SV will be released later in 2022, bringing even more luxury and customisation options, such as ceramic finishes on key controls, near-aniline leather, mosaic marquetry woodwork, and 13.1-inch back entertainment displays.

The Land Rover team refers to a drive in the car as a “magic carpet ride,” and this can certainly be agreed upon as we found magic in almost all of the technical details, with the active electronic air suspension and other high-tech technologies that improve the ride and handling.

Another benefit of the new Range Rover is the use of quality and sustainable materials, making the seats ultra comfortable but also on the steering wheel, across the dash and doors, and on the gear shifter are made from sustainable materials.

We have found that nothing else has quite the same feel or character of a Range Rover, this level of refinement, space, comfort and technology is hard to come by and Land Rover has shown that they are at the forefront of the market.
